What is ASTYM?
ASTYM stands for “a stimulation” of the body’s healing response, which results in the remodeling/resorption of scar tissue and the regeneration of degenerated tissue. The approach is non-invasive and works fast and consistently without the use of medication, injections or surgery.
The ASTYM process is specific and has proven effective through documented, consistent, desirable outcomes. Developed by a team of physicians, physical therapists, and scientists, this protocol-driven system delivers long-term results with short-term, fast-acting therapy. It is often very effective when other treatments have proven unsuccessful. In order to perform ASTYM treatment, therapists must be certified by Performance Dynamics.
Both Joseph Poloni PT, DPT, CIDN and Alex Garay PTA, CKTP are certified ASTYM clinicians. While patients will usually experience mild soreness following the first 2 treatments, significant improvement is reported in just 3 treatments in 95% of cases at Ignite Physical Therapy making it a very effective and efficient treatment modality. Patient’s are required to complete stretches 4 times/day during the course of treatment to ensure proper healing of tissue. Tissue heals in a functional pattern allowing freedom of movement and freedom from pain. Once patient’s are painfree, signs and symptoms are healed permanently and will not return.
